Honzíček dospíval - mohutněl a měnil se v Jana. Dětská postýlka - rozkládací křeslo už zdaleka nestačilo potřebám muskulního těla.
I proto, když šel spát, zaháněl jeho růst obratle, až do opěradla rozloženého křesla.
A tak po každém setmění mladík bolestně přetáčel svou páteř, zjevně tolik rovnou a nepružnou. Obracel se v nesmírné snaze přizpůsobit ji zlomenému tvaru. Marně. Tehdy snil, dlouho do nocí snil. Oči měl zavřené ve tmě domova - už odrostlého domova a hledal ve světle představ. Hledal mimo reálné schránky.
Vydával se cestami, vydával se krajnou potřeb a nacházel už vyšlapané pěšiny a těmi opakovaně odkrýval stejné odpovědi. A tak přicházel stále častěji k stroji a upíral naděje k obyčejnému tlačítku. K takovému prostému tlačítku, jaké měl otec na automatu, kterým brousil hlavy motorů a mačkal jej mezi čtením novin - novin plných šmíru. Janova posedlost pojistným spínačem nabývala a žil touhou vykonávat práci na obyčejný stisk na dotek cizího člověka. Chtěl, aby k němu lidé přicházeli s potřebou a on potřeby naplňoval.
S ubíhajícími dny jeho životní nutnost, nutnost spínače vzrostla, až z čistého rána se zhmotnila.
Nevěřil svému štěstí! Tam kde kdysi trčela pupeční šňůra, zrodil se Honzův technický bod.
Byl nadšený a celý zanícený vyšel mezi lidi. Radoval se v přesvědčení, že pupek přinese vše, přinese svět, lásku, vstřícnost i život. Jen až se ho lidé správně dotknou a on vykoná přání, on je najde.
Vyšel prostý a jen tak nahý do ulic, a bulváry byly plné osob se stejnými cíli, mačkali se vzájemně, tiskli se a i Jana mnohokrát semleli. Jen technicky správné zmáčknutí se nestalo. A lidé lidem byli nepříjemní a dotekům se snažili vyhnout a pro své, tak podobné cíle si vydupávali prostor a bylo v něm těsno - překáželi si v myslích. Šlapali si po rukou, chodili po hlavách a i ty žulové a kočičí z hlav nevyjímaje.
Když na večer znavený Jan ve tmě smýkal plochami obratlů, přepadla jej marnost. Taková slepá - bez cest. A i ty vyšlapané odpovědi se zdály být kopřivami nad propastí. Proč?
Proč si lidé nevšimli? Vůbec jej nevnímali. Nebyl!
‚Nač by existoval?‘, ptal se.
‚Kde lidé hledají druhé?‘
‚Ano, ano, přeci v očích!‘, odpověděl si v lichou noc.
On sám tak nečinil, bál se zrady. On sám panenky pouštěl zemí, těkal v kouty, aby se nesvázaly, nesvázaly s někým, s člověkem. Proč mu asi vyrostlo tlačítku z pupku, když oči v očích budí důvěru a v očích se hledají okna, nebo studny?

A nejen slibovalo, ale své sliby plnilo, jen co dostalo příležitost. Jen co vyšel mezi tekoucí masy tonoucích osob.
Všedně normální lidé v davu - se dnes zbláznili a pozorovali druhé. Pozorovali, jak přichází další a další zvědavci, zvědaví, co stroj Jan provede právě jim. Tu palcem, jindy ukazováčkem vmáčkli červený bod do oční jamky, jako by nebožáka oslepili.
